About Henna Girl Tattoos

I have been interested in body art for as long as I can remember. I was intrigued by using the body as a canvas for art, and loved how proud people seemed to show theirs off.

The more information I gathered, the more interested I became. I started to look into the deeper reasons behind body art - traditional customs, rites of passage and as part of special events in peoples lives.

When I was around 9 or 10, I attended a local show and found a henna tattoo artist. I remember vividly getting a lizard on my ankle. I didn’t realise at the time that this moment would lead to a life-long hobby and business!

Ever since that day, I have been practising and refining my technique. I have devised my very own henna mix - using all natural ingredients for a strong but traditionally orange-brown colour. I mix my henna freshly for each appointment; ensuring that you only get the very best quality.

I am also a campaigner against modern ‘black henna’. There is no such thing! Black henna is very toxic and can cause heavy scarring. PPD is often added into henna or even simply hair dye mix, and then applied to leave a black tattoo. This practice is not only irresponsible, but unbelievably dangerous. Unfortunately, there is no natural way to create a completely black, temporary tattoo - however, traditional henna is so beautiful, and can be layered to create stunning dark and multi-tonal designs!

I now offer henna artistry at local events and for private appointments and parties. Please feel free to contact me for availability, prices and more information! You will also be able to find further details of packages I offer on this page.
